CASARES | This summer is one marked by uncertainty in the tourism sector, with reservations and cancellations that are happening one after another. Occupancy has generally decreased in all establishments during the month of July compare with the same month last year.
In the hotel establishments of the town centre, national and Andalucian tourists clearly make up the majority, having maintained the occupancy of hotels and country houses at around 50% in the month of July, with better expectations for August bookings, that remain at 70% for now, despite the fact that there have already been a number of cancellations by British tourists.
The holiday apartments on Casares Costa also reflect instability, as well as the succession of constant reservations and cancellations. But the month of July has passed with a good rate of occupation, around 70-80%, and reservations for August also present for the moment a percentage similar to that of July, with national tourists being without doubt in the majority.
Luxury tourism has a strong presence in Casares thanks to the Finca Cortesin resort, which offers very spacious facilities, a feature that undoubtedly benefits in these times of pandemic, offering security to its users.
Cortesin has achieved an occupancy of almost 60% during the month of July, with mainly foreign tourists (from Central Europe and Britain), although it has also experienced an increase in national clients. For August, the forecast is to exceed 70%, despite the repercussions on British tourism after the recently announced measures, according to consulted sources, it is expected to reach this level occupation as it isn't so dependent on visitors from the UK.
