CASARES | Following the deadline for submission on 15th June, the jury is now working on the selection of projects that will be subsidized through the Premiso Blas Infante Casares Solidario Awards, which will celebrate its 18th edition on the 5th July.
This year 28 projects have been entered, 3 for assistance actions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Andalucia, to which this edition allocates 10,000 euros that in previous editions were for education development projects through the Casares for Spain and Casares for Andalucia awards.
But most of the participating projects, 25 in total, are from International Cooperation project and, therefore, they are eligible for the Casares Prize for Humanity and the Blas Infante prizes, for which 40,000 euros of the 50,000 euros allocated to the prize fund is awarded.
The Mayor of Casares, Pepe Carrasco, has announced that this year to coincide with the celebration of the 135th anniversary of the birth of Blas Infante, the gala will have a special character and will feature digital presentations by personalities related to the figure of Infante.
The 28 NGOs that attend this 18th edition of the awards will be present through a video platform to learn first-hand the jury's decision and to be able to collect their award virtually.
